    Bates’ fine art photography is 19th century historical process and contemporary experimental photography. Historical processes that Bates uses are Van Dyke prints, salt printing, cyanotype, multiple gum dichromate prints, and photogravure. Bates’ fine art prints have been displayed in many group and juried shows in galleries in the Arizona area.
